When we’re grabbing for snacks, we love anything that is sweet and salty, and trail mix is a great option.

This Halloween trail mix takes the classic recipe and adds a bit of fun with the addition of candy corn and fun mellowcreme pumpkins.

The sweet candy is balanced by dried cranberries and plenty of lightly salted nuts for a taste that is so easy to crave.

Whether you’re hitting the trails for some leaf peeping or grabbing snacks for weekend sports, this Halloween trail mix is a fun twist on the original!

Five labeled bowls containing Harvest Mix, cashews, peanuts, cranberries, and M&M's, arranged on a white surface with a brown cloth partially visible in the background.

You’ll need:

Peanuts – When I make trail mix, I prefer to use roasted, lightly salted peanuts. The salt adds a nice contrast to the sweet candies and cranberries.

Cashews – Look for cashew halves and pieces, which are a bit cheaper than whole cashews.

Dried cranberries – Any variety of dried cranberry will work. I usually go with the classic version rather than the ones flavored with strawberry or cherry.

Halloween M&Ms – You can use any M&Ms but to make this a Halloween mix, make sure to grab the special Halloween colors!

Harvest Mix – Harvest Mix (or Autumn Mix) is a mix of mellowcreme pumpkins and candy corn. If you don’t like the candy pumpkins, just swap in a bag of candy corn, though I do recommend getting the mixed colors!
