Preheat oven to 350°F. If you like, line your baking pan with parchment or foil for easy cleanup.
Unroll crescent roll dough onto a cutting board. Gently press the seams together to seal. Cut into at least 16 thin strips. Cut cheese slices into 4 strips each.
Place 1 strip of cheese alongside 1 hot dog. Wrap 1 strip of dough around the hot dog and cheese, gently stretching to wrap more. Add another strip of dough, wrapping in the opposite direction. Place on baking sheet.
Repeat until all of the hot dogs and dough is used, adding extra dough strips to the dogs as needed. Make sure there is a little unwrapped hot dog near one end if you plan to add eyes.
Place in the oven and bake for 13-15 minutes, until golden brown.
Cool briefly, then dot on eyes using ketchup, mustard, or sriracha. Serve with additional sauce for dipping.
